Asbestos in Drinking Water

We drink water, because we are running strong as a pure substance needed by our body to flush toxins and keep our body. However, knowing many people do not realize that drinking water can be infused from bad pipes with asbestos. Instead of helping your body, drinking water contaminated with asbestos in fact lead to serious health problems like cancer.

You may have against the hazards of asbestos in the construction industry is one. Asbestos in buildings has been for everything from usedVinyl flooring tiles to insulation to the ceiling. Truly, asbestos was the potential to completely surround you. But in the early 1970s, people began for the banning of asbestos by the number of health problems, causing the call it.

Asbestos was in a variety of diseases including various cancers such as lung, throat, esophagus, colon, stomach, intestine, kidney, gall bladder are connected, and mesothelioma. Moreover, they can cause diseases such as asbestosis,Pleural plaques and pleural effusion. These diseases can be through inhalation or ingestion of asbestos.

The reason why asbestos is so dangerous because it is a carcinogen that our DNA mutates. Moreover, instead of our body are removed and rinsed to get asbestos fibers lodged in our tissues, where they remain for ever. Our bodies need to form protective nodes in fiber strips, but sometimes it is not enough.

Drinking water with asbestos in it makes youparticularly susceptible to cancers associated with the mouth, throat and digestive system. This material can get into drinking water if the water products that contain asbestos transporting reduce over time. Specifically, the old water pipes were often built of asbestos and cement. By the time the cement starts to break down and release asbestos into the water supply.

To protect people from asbestos in drinking water, Congress passed the Safe Drinking Water Act in 1974. This allowed theEnvironmental Protection Agency, EPA, or to set standards on the amount of asbestos allowed in the water supply. The EPA set targets to reduce the spread of these carcinogens in the water than the maximum contaminant level goals or MCLGs.

However, the MCLGs were not directly enforceable by the EPA because it is only achieving goals. Thus, the EPA standards, the so-called maximum contaminant level, called MCL. Now, the MCL and the MCLG at the same level MFL-7. This allows the EPAperiodically review the asbestos content in drinking water.

Although the EPA has now govern the possibility of asbestos in drinking water that is still many pipes may be leaching of asbestos in your drinking water. One can develop cancer. If you or someone you know has forgiven asbestos-related cancer due to illegal asbestos exposure, you should speak with an attorney about your rights.
